Time to dust off my wings....

We're off to play for the Fae again this year at Spoutwood Farm's Faerie Festival.

This Friday begins the 20th year for the festival and we're happy to be part of it. 

The festival started as a small fundraiser for the farm, which besides being a CSA, it's also an educational center.  The first year they had about 100 people.  It has grown a bit in the last 20 years and we should see the likes of thousands - roughly 10 thousand.

If you're looking for a family friendly, fun thing to do this weekend, it's worth the drive.  If you should come, please make sure you stop and say hi.  We'll be wandering the fair, but, usually play behind the spot-o- pots under the fairy tree.

I'll be the horny elf.

I am the Mother Earth and you are a child to me.

Rocks and stones, clay and peat - all strats are a part of me.

Jewels and crystals, gems and gold are hidden in the heart of me.

Herbs and flowers, trees and shrubs, these are growing green on me.

Mosses, fungi, lichens, vines, all of these are seen on me.

Horses, cattle, pigs and deer, bears and lions roam on me.

Snakes and spiders, rats and slugs, all creatures have their home on me.

Bubbling brooks and silent springs, living rivers flow on me.

Pools and puddles, lakes and seas, salty oceans grow on me.

Tiny tiddlers, mighty whales, sacred salmon leap for me.

Sharks and squid and crabs and krill fill the waters deep for me.

Wrens and larks and crows and terns fill my skies with darting flight.

Hawks and eagles, bats and owls catch their prey by day and night.

Creeping worms and flying fox, teeming ants fulfill theirs lives,

In tune with me, in Nature's Way, as honey bees enrich my hives.

Only humans rob their kin, despoil the land, pollute the seas,

Kill for fun, destroy the woods, float poisoned vapors on the breeze.

I shall live for I can heal, even if you humans die,

But you can learn, as children should, to grow in peace

Peaceful Fridays.....

My wish for everyone this weekend is to be free.  All out, un-ashamed, no reservations, spirit lifting freedom.  Run, dance, sing, twirl, fall in the grass and stare at the clouds.

What chickens do when you're not home.....

 Hubster and I came home last night from the session at the local to find this.  Looks like the girls broke out of their jail cell.... er, a brooder.

 By the copious amounts of "schtuff" on the floor I'd say they'd been out most of the evening.

 Do they look nervous to you?

 Or maybe a little guilty?

 Or stupid? ( Na, how could you not love that face!)

Whatever, if anything they were feeling, it was entirely a team effort.  All six were out and roosting. I've got me a real set of jail birds here!  Maybe they were watching the telly while we were gone and got the idea from Cool Hand Luke?  Hmmm, I'll have to have a talk with them about appropriate television viewing!  I mean, after all, they should only be watching "G" rated shows!

Soon Hubsters had everyone tucked in for the night and all ended well, even if they did protest and squawk a little. 

Now, I need to show them what a mop is and how to use it!

I want to thank everyone for the well wishes concerning my back.  I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things and hopefully I will get the okay this week to do a little gardening!

I also want to welcome all my new readers!  It still amazes me folks find my words and pictures interesting!

Once again, a heartfelt thanks for all the well wishes.  Its lightened up my grumpy mood immensely!
